Weekly Reminders (Feb. 27th- Mar.2nd)….

Please send in the consent form for the UPEI history project that our class has an opportunity to take part in. It is a 12 week study, so we need to get started as soon as possible.

Science is finished, so this week the class will begin health.

Our school Heritage Fair is fast approaching. There are several websites with images of Heritage projects on the web. Display boards can be purchased at Staples. Monday, March 12th, is Heritage Fair Day.

Both classes have been assigned their next book report – a classic. On Friday, March 16th, the students will need to present an oral book report to the class dressed as one of the characters from the book.

Skating on Friday at the Simmons Arena- if your child needs a ride back to the school, please send in a note or e-mail.

Weekly Reminders (Feb.21st- 24th)….

No school on Monday, enjoy your day off, class.

Special guest speaker on Wednesday- Kelly Gillis from UPEI will be talking about an exciting history project we can be a part of.

Science Test on Thursday- last science test of the year. We’ll be studying health next.

New book report books need to be chosen by Wednesday- a classic story.

Hannah McGonnell participates in the Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday at UPEI. We are so proud of you, Hannah!

Skating on Friday at the Simmons Arena. Be sure to pick up your child there at 2:30 on Friday.

Weekly Reminders (Feb. 13th-17th)…

It’s Love of Reading Week- here at GCS. Mrs. H, our librarian, has some fun days planned to celebrate reading: February 14th- Dress Up Day- dress up like your favourite book character. February 15th- Book cover contest- create a poster of your favourite book cover.

Tuesday- Valentine’s Day party at the CARI Pool complex- send in some goodies with your child.

Wednesday- Animal Poster Presentations

Friday- Skiing at Brookvale.

Be sure to keeping working on your Heritage Fair project. Remember our school fair will be held on March 12th.

Dates to Remember in February

February is a busy month.

Here are some important dates to remember…..

February 8th- Report cards go home.

February 9th-10th- Parent Teacher Conferences.. sign up sheets are available at the school entrance.

February 14th- Valentine’s Day party at the CARI pool complex. Permission slips will go home on Monday.

February 15th- Animal Poster projects are due.

February 17th- Skiing at Brookvale.

February 20th- No school- Islander Day

February 24th- Skating at the Simmons Arena

Be sure to check your child’s agenda for permission slips and notes that will be coming home. A schedule of weekly tests and quizzes can also be found in the agenda.
